Nancy has always been an artistic person with a creative drive. In high school, an honorable mention at the local art fair drove her interest in pursuing art. She dabbled in many different mediums over the years, but later focused on fiber art and studied with many nationally known fiber artists. She enjoyed the challenge of national competitions and was juried into many shows receiving numerous awards, but felt too confined in that medium and returned to painting in 2005.
She enjoys painting in oils, but pastels are still her favorite medium. Adding to the challenge of painting, she enjoys time spent painting 'en plein air’ (painting in the open air) which combines two of her favorite things – being in nature and creating art.
Nancy has studied with local teachers Joe Lombardo, Jim Glover, Charles Rowland, Meredith Martin, Stan Pierce, and with nationally known artists Mike Beeman, Ray Hassard, Stan Sperlak, Kim Casebeer, and Michael Chesley Johnson. And of course, she learns much from painting alongside all her painting buddies.
Affiliations include the Central Ohio Plein Air group, Worthington Area Art League, Ohio Plein Air Society, and Ohio Pastel Artists League.
Nancy has exhibited since 1997 all over the US. Recent exhibitions awarded many honorable mentions, viewer's choice, 3rd place, 1st place, and Best in Show ribbons. She has numerous paintings in private collections and is seeking gallery representation.
