Born in New Jersey in 1956, Nancy grew up in Central Ohio and is now based in southern Delaware County. Her studio is in her home. Nancy has always been artistic and has honed her painting skills over the last 16 years working primarily in oil. She is a member of several local art groups, has been in many Ohio exhibits, and has won numerous awards.
She enjoys classical realism and chiaroscuro. While her main subject matter is still life, she also enjoys painting landscapes. She has no formal academic art training, but mainly studies through practical experience and has taken workshops from many internationally known artists. Nancy has studied with local teachers Joe Lombardo, Jim Glover, Charles Rowland, Meredith Martin, Stan Pierce, and with internationally known artists Mike Beeman, Ray Hassard, Stan Sperlak, Kim Casebeer, Mark Boedges, Paul Foxton, and Michael Chesley Johnson.
She received an AS degree in Electrical Engineering and recently retired from the field. Her engineering side is now combined with her artistic side. This results in her joy of studying the technical side of materials and process while making art. Ironically, at her job in high school at a local paint store, she was tasked to color match custom colors of automotive and commercial paint (way before computer scanned matches of today!). That eye for mixing colors has helped her so much in her painting today.
